2020-2021

I couldn't bear the thought of not having a snow sports club (plus my kids were harassing me), so I am in the process of setting up a new club!  The YETI Club is an exploratory club for teens and tweens, ages 10-18.  I want these kids to increase their love for skiing and snowboarding by trying out Utah's awesome resorts. (Yo. Everyone Try It!)

I am tentatively looking at:

Wednesday, January 6 - Nordic Valley (night skiing)

Tuesday, January 12 - Brighton (night skiing)

Tuesday, January 19 - Powder Mtn. (day/night skiing)

*This is a DSD teacher prep day, so the students will not miss school.

FAQs:

Who can join the club?

Experienced skiers and snowboarders can join the club.  You will need your own equipment.  I will arrange for discount passes and distribute the passes at the resorts.  The rest is up to you.

Will we get a bus?

No, due to Covid-19 restrictions the club will not have a bus this year. Please establish your own carpools.

How much will this cost

I will negotiate discount passes once I know how many people are interested in the club.  Email me if you want to join!  Please remember to include parents if they want to ride too.  The more the merrier!

This is a nonprofit club.  To help keep costs as low as possible I will not be making a club hoodie this year.

Who is in charge of this thing?

Hi.  I am Annie Williams.  I'm a teacher at Legacy Jr. High.  I have ran a snow sports club for the past 13 years (at Legacy Jr. and Syracuse Jr.).  I worked in the snow sports industry for over 20 years, teaching skiing and snowboarding, and managing the children's program at Powder Mtn.  I LOVE snow sports and I am hoping to help your kids develop that love too.

Email me, at AnnieTWilliams@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the club.  Prices will be set once I have an estimated number.

Here's an example email:

I'm interested in signing up my 10 year old and 14 year old.  We can attend all three days, and I will need two adult chaperone passes each day.

Bryn Williams (10)

Maiki Williams (14)

Annie Williams (adult)

Beth Miya (adult)

Please let me know the price ASAP.

2020-2021 Season

I regret to inform you that Davis School District changed their non-curricular club policy.  We are no longer allowed to charge a fee or schedule buses.  I'm so sorry.

Warmest Regards,

Double-Booked

Our last date coincides with the Legacy Jr. High Sixth Grade Open House, so we had to push it back a week.

We will NOT be riding on Wednesday, January 29th!
It will be MOVED to Wednesday, February 5th.

If this date does not work for your son/daughter please let the office staff know and they can refund the cost of the pass and that portion of the bus ride ($12.50 + $7 = $19.50).

We apologize for the inconvenience.

January 17th, Powder Mtn. Reminder

The bus will arrive at Legacy Jr. High at 11am.  We will head to Eden and meet the Powder Mtn. shuttle, distribute passes, and then ride for awhile.

The Powder Mtn. shuttle will meet us in the Sundown parking lot at 6:30pm, then we will reload the school bus at 7pm, and return to LJH around 8pm.

If you are meeting us up there I will be at the picnic area above the Sundown restrooms at 12:30pm.

If you are driving remember that the Powder Mtn. road requires 4x4 and/or chains!  They are also partnered with UTA and you can pay a minimal fee for a bus ride.

Alternates

If your son/daughter didn't make the snow sports club they can still participate, but they will need to find their own rides.  The bus has limited space and I could only accept 80 students.

If you would like to purchase discount passes and/or the club hoodie please email me prior to December 16th.

Sincerely,
Annie Williams

An LJH chaperone will open the equipment room at 3pm, and it will remain open until 3:15pm.  Students need to get ready and be outside by 3:25pm.  The bus will pick us up on the east side of the school, directly in front of the gym.  We are leaving at 3:30pm!
