January 17th was CANCELLED!

At 3pm the rain was poring down not only in Layton, but also at Nordic Valley.  The bad weather was predicted to continue throughout the night, so I decided to put safety first and reschedule the trip.  I am truly sorry for all of the students who were disappointed and parents who were inconvenienced.  I am an avid skier/snowboarder and I know what it is like to ski/board in rainy conditions.  Transitioning from ice to slush is extremely challenging, especially because we have a high number of somewhat inexperienced riders in our club.  After talking to the manager at Nordic Valley, seeing that Powder Mtn. closed due to possible avalanches, and talking to other snow sports club advisors I decided to cancel the trip.

Powder Mtn. Waiver
